Bill Kaulitz was born on September 1, 1989 in Leipzig, East Germany.[35] He was born ten minutes after his identical twin brother, Tom, to Simone Kaulitz, a freelance tailor, and Jörg.[35] His parents separated when he was seven, and his mother married Gordon Trümper, a guitarist from the German rock band Fatun. His stepfather inspired Bill and his brother to begin their music careers, and they began writing song lyrics.[8][35][36][37] Bill has stated that his biggest musical influence is German pop artist Nena.[35]

In August 2008, Bill Kaulitz was chosen as the most attractive singer on stage by the readers of the Spanish magazine ¡Hola!.[41]
Bill was immortalized in wax at the Madame Tussauds museum in Berlin. His wax statue was unveiled on September 30, 2008. At 19 years old, Bill became the youngest person to be duplicated by the Madame Tussauds museum in Berlin.[42][43]
In December 2008, Bill Kaulitz was named "Man of the Year #6" by MTV News.[44]
In 2009, he voiced the role of Arthur in the 2nd part of the German version of the film.
Bill designes his favorite stage costumes himself. Even if he couldn't draw well, his tailor knew what he meant.[45]
His favorite styles: David Bowie in "Labyrinth", Nena, Vampires, Paris Secondhand Shops, striking jewelry and Dior Homme.[45]
Recently, he collects suspenders, and Bill Kaulitz is also "totally crazy about jackets" - especially leather jackets. Hundreds of them are hanging in his closet - most of them in black.[45]
In September 2009, Bill was chosen by fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld to take part in a photo shoot for the 30th birthday of Vogue (magazine) in Germany.[45][46] Karl Lagerfeld described him as "The Other Idea of a German" and wrote that the 20-year-old singer with the unusual styling became a superstar. And a fashion icon.[45]
In October 2009, Bill was #11 on German magazine GQ 's Best Dressed list. They cite his flamboyant style as one of the reasons, and that he likes to change and try new things. Designer Michael Michalsty supported his decision by saying: “Bill Kaulitz is unique and uncompromising, Pop-Art brought to life. He likes to change – that is fashion.” [47][48]
Tom Kaulitz
Tom Kaulitz was born on September 1, 1989 in Leipzig ten minutes before his identical twin brother, Bill. His style of dress is baggy Hip-Hop clothes, with dreadlocks and large New Era hats, the only one of the band to do so. As of September 2007, Tom was using Gibson guitars and Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Heads with Mesa Boogie Rectifier 4x12 cabinets.[49] He has stated his musical influences to be Aerosmith[36] and German hip-hop such as Samy Deluxe.[8]
Georg Listing
Georg Listing was born on 31 March 1987. His hometown is Halle. He began playing bass when he was thirteen-years-old,[8] and, as of September 2007, uses a Sandberg bass.[49] He has said that his playing style was heavily influenced by Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers,[50] and other musical influences include Die Ärzte and Oasis.[8]
Gustav Schäfer
Gustav Schäfer was born on 8 September 1988 in his hometown of Magdeburg, and has an older sister. Gustav has been playing the drums since he was five.[8] His musical influences include Metallica,[37] Joe Cocker and Rod Stewart.[36]
